Earlier this month, U.S. District Judge Vince Chhabria ruled that Phil Tagami’s lawsuit challenging the City of Oakland’s ban on transporting coal within the city will head to trial. New Voices is spearheading a youth led and youth organized rally<\/a>\u00a0to show Tagami and the City of Oakland that the youth will not stand for coal in their neighborhood. Coal dust from the shipments could threaten the environmental health of an area already heavily affected by air pollution. The rally will begin at Street Academy 417 29th St, Oakland, CA 94609 to Oakland City Hall down Broadway.<\/p>\n
