We hope that through these interviews, you get to know a little more about\u00a0the dynamic\u00a0people that make the Rose Foundation&#8217;s work possible.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Laura Fern\u00e1ndez <\/strong>joined the Rose Foundation staff in 2016, and is a program officer managing several of the Rose Foundation&#8217;s grantmaking programs.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><span class=\"s1\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" title=\"Lfernandez\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/Lfernandez.jpg\" alt=\"Lfernandez\" width=\"560\" height=\"420\" align=\"none\" border=\"0\" hspace=\"0\" vspace=\"0\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Rose Foundation program officer Laura Fernandez visits the famous town of Gautap\u00e9, in her<br \/>\nnative Colombia, a town known for its colorful houses and an\u00a0expansive nearby reservoir.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: left;\"><span class=\"s1\"><strong>1. What brought you to the Rose Foundation? \/\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><em><strong><span class=\"s1\">\u00bf<\/span><\/strong><strong><span class=\"s1\">Qu\u00e9 te trajo a la\u00a0fundaci\u00f3n?<\/span><\/strong><\/em><strong><span class=\"s1\">\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">\u00a0<span class=\"s1\">A desire to work\u00a0more locally, at an organization\u00a0connecting\u00a0environmental\u00a0justice and\u00a0the\u00a0grassroots.\u00a0I also wanted to learn about water and California&#8217;s\u00a0watersheds. Finally, my belief\u00a0in the power of\u00a0philanthropy as a driving force to help solve\u00a0some of the most pressing environmental issues.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><em><span class=\"s1\">Un deseo que\u00a0tra\u00eda de trabajar a escala mas local, en una\u00a0organizaci\u00f3n con conexi\u00f3n a la justicia ambiental y a las comunidades de base.\u00a0Tambi\u00e9n\u00a0quer\u00eda aprender sobre el agua y las cuencas de California.
