Below is a list of funds working to address the impacts of the COVID-19 Pandemic in our communities. This is by no means a comprehensive list of the ever-expanding resources forming in response to the pandemic. These funds speak to the core values of the Rose Foundation. They support some of the most vulnerable and impacted communities, many of which overlap with our grantee communities.<\/p>\n
Bay Area:<\/strong><\/p>\n COVID-19 Rapid Response Fund for Oakland Students and Schools<\/a> \u2013 This fund is gathering donations to feed Oakland\u2019s students and families; ensure clean and safe facilities; support continuity of learning; and support vulnerable families.<\/p>\n East Oakland Collective<\/a> \u2013 This collective is a former Rose Foundation grantee that is serving Oaklands unhoused community members and other vulnerable populations by resourcing food, individually packing meals, and distributing them; as well as purchasing and distributing critical sanitation and general supplies.<\/p>\n Oakland Fund for Public Innovation<\/a> \u2013 This fund will provide immediate grants to nonprofit organizations working on the frontlines and addressing four priority areas: food, homelessness, community health, and economic security.<\/p>\n Oakland Undocumented Relief Fund<\/a> \u2013 This fund will support immigrant Oakland workers who have lost their jobs and income as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic and the aggressive public health measures necessary to combat the spread of this disease.<\/p>\n Reach for Home<\/a> \u2013 This organization is a Rose Foundation grantee that works to end homelessness in the North Bay. In addition to their regular operations, the group is serving over 170 individuals 3 meals a day, so they can stay safely sheltered in place and serving homeless of the North Bay.<\/p>\n SFF COVID-19 Emergency Response Fund<\/a>\u00a0\u2013\u00a0This San Francisco Foundation Fund will make a limited number of one-time grants ($3,000 \u2013 $25,000) to nonprofits addressing the following four issue areas: racial bias; worker protection; homelessness, renter protection, and housing security; and food security.<\/p>\n Stimulus Pledge<\/a> \u2013 This fund is partnering with OUSD schools and local nonprofits in Oakland to collect donations from people\u2019s stimulus checks to redirect to those who will not receive any federal assistance or unemployment benefits. You can make a pledge to help a family that a local school identifies as struggling to make ends meet.<\/p>\n UndocuFund for Disaster Relief in Sonoma County<\/a>\u00a0\u2013\u00a0This fund will support undocumented children, families, and communities in Sonoma County affected by the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic.<\/p>\n Centros familiares UpValley<\/a> \u2013 This organization is a Rose Foundation grantee offering bilingual support to North Bay families by connecting community members in Napa County with safety net benefits and other resources for support; and providing emergency aid for low- to moderate-income workers who face financial hardship resulting from the economic impact of the coronavirus and may not already qualify for federal assistance.<\/p>\n California:<\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n Centro para las Familias de Trabajadores Agr\u00edcolas<\/a> \u2013 This organization is a Rose Foundation grantee that promotes awareness about the difficult life circumstances of farmworker families and inspires improvement in farmworkers\u2019 binational family life. In response to this public health crisis, and because the organization\u2019s monthly distribution of food and household goods is canceled to continue social distancing, the Center is distributing individual gift cards for groceries to farmworkers and their families.<\/p>\n Community Alliance with Family Farmers<\/a> \u2013 This organization is a Rose Foundation grantee that is compiling tips, resources, and guideline to keep family farmers safe, informed, and in business during this crisis. The group is also advocating in Sacramento to protect local food systems, keeping farmers markets open as \u201cessential businesses,\u201d encouraging state support for farmers to transition their sales outlets in the face of mass closures of schools, company cafeterias, and restaurants.<\/p>\n Love Not Fear\/COVID-19 Fund<\/a> \u2013 This fund provides wrap around services to the most vulnerable, especially undocumented seniors living in the Inland Empire and Central Valley and families that have already lost wages. It will also provide core support to organizations that will offer financial aid to families that have already experienced wage loss.<\/p>\n Mission Asset Fund\u2019s COVID-19 Rapid Response Fund<\/a> \u2013 This fund is hosted by a Rose Foundation grantee, and it will connect people with the resources and emergency relief they need during this pandemic. MAF is connecting people directly with resources they are eligible for; direct cash grants to people who can\u2019t receive government aid, including immigrant families, undergraduate students at California public colleges, and LA young creatives; and zero interest bridge loans to small business owners.<\/p>\n 805 UndocuFund<\/a> \u2013 This fund is a collective effort among Ventura and Santa Barbara County-based grassroots community organizations that have a solid reputation, strong track record, and are known and trusted by many undocumented residents: Mixteco\/Indigenous Community Organizing Project (MICOP), the Central Coast Alliance United for a Sustainable Economy (CAUSE), and Future Leaders of America (FLA) with leadership support provided by the McCune Foundation. The fund will assist undocumented community members who are excluded from federally funded safety net programs; that have been economically impacted by the loss of their homes, wages, and\/or employment due to disasters in our community like wildfires, mudslides, and the coronavirus.<\/p>\n Pacific Northwest:<\/strong><\/p>\n Frontline Response Fund<\/a> \u2013 this Fund was created by the Front and Centered Coalition of over 75 Pacific Northwest organizations based-in and led by communities of color.
