Justicia<\/span><\/p>\n

Compartimos la oleada nacional de dolor, indignaci\u00f3n y luto tras la m\u00e1s reciente oleada de vidas negras segadas por actos violentos arraigados en el racismo, entre ellas la de Ahmaud Arbery, <\/span>Breonna Taylor, George Floyd y Tony McDade<\/span>. Y nuestro dolor por los pocos que podemos nombrar se ve acrecentado por nuestro luto por todos aquellos cuyos nombres desconocemos, incluidos los que han muerto en la actual pandemia que se ha cobrado vidas negras de forma desproporcionada.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Todos los aspectos de nuestras vidas en Estados Unidos se ven afectados por el racismo y la antinegritud, desde la fundaci\u00f3n de nuestro pa\u00eds hasta la actuaci\u00f3n policial, la econom\u00eda y el empleo, la salud y la vivienda, y el impacto clim\u00e1tico y medioambiental. <\/span>Los estadounidenses de raza negra tienen tres veces m\u00e1s probabilidades de morir a manos de un agente de polic\u00eda<\/span><\/a> en comparaci\u00f3n con los estadounidenses blancos. Los estadounidenses de raza negra viven en las zonas m\u00e1s contaminadas de nuestras comunidades y\u00a0<\/span>se enfrentan a una contaminaci\u00f3n por part\u00edculas t\u00f3xicas una vez y media mayor que la poblaci\u00f3n en general, lo que provoca m\u00e1s asma, enfermedades cardiovasculares y otros problemas de salud<\/span><\/a> en las comunidades negras. En parte debido a estas disparidades sanitarias,<\/span>\u00a0Los negros tienen tres veces y media m\u00e1s probabilidades de morir de COVID-19<\/span><\/a> en comparaci\u00f3n con los estadounidenses blancos. Todas estas estad\u00edsticas surgen del racismo sist\u00e9mico establecido desde hace mucho tiempo que amenaza la vida de los estadounidenses de raza negra.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Debemos reconocer estas verdades y asumirlas, porque es la \u00fanica forma de superarlas. La Fundaci\u00f3n Rose cree y lucha por la justicia racial, la justicia econ\u00f3mica y la justicia clim\u00e1tica y medioambiental, que est\u00e1n inextricablemente unidas. De hecho, el movimiento por la justicia medioambiental que conocemos hoy en d\u00eda naci\u00f3 del trabajo de los organizadores negros que se ocupaban de los impactos raciales, sanitarios y medioambientales en sus comunidades. Como parte de este movimiento, sabemos que s\u00f3lo alcanzaremos un futuro clim\u00e1ticamente seguro y medioambientalmente justo para nuestras comunidades cuando construyamos uno racialmente justo.<\/span><\/p>\n

Llevamos m\u00e1s de 25 a\u00f1os defendiendo a las comunidades y su poder. Sabemos que nuestras comunidades prosperan cuando la gente participa en las decisiones que les afectan a ellos, a sus familias, a sus vecinos y al mundo que les rodea. Nos comprometemos a seguir apoyando a las comunidades a trav\u00e9s de nuestro trabajo, y a aportar recursos y herramientas a los proyectos dirigidos por j\u00f3venes y comunidades que abordan las amenazas sociales, raciales, econ\u00f3micas y medioambientales cr\u00edticas a las que se enfrentan en California y en todo el pa\u00eds.
