NVR pretende formar a la pr\u00f3xima generaci\u00f3n de l\u00edderes comunitarios educando e implicando a los j\u00f3venes del \u00c1rea de la Bah\u00eda en los problemas que afectan desproporcionadamente a sus comunidades. NVR organiza dos programas: la Academia de Verano y la Beca del a\u00f1o acad\u00e9mico. La Academia de Verano de este a\u00f1o comenz\u00f3 el 16 de junio, con temas semanales sobre justicia medioambiental, pr\u00e1cticas externas y eventos presenciales.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A lo largo de la Academia cubrimos los temas de la justicia del agua, la calidad del aire, la justicia de la vivienda, la energ\u00eda y la justicia alimentaria. Desde 2020, la Academia de Verano de Nuevas Voces se ha celebrado virtualmente a trav\u00e9s de Zoom. Sin embargo, desde que se levantaron las restricciones de Covid, \u00a1este a\u00f1o hemos vuelto a organizar eventos en persona y excursiones! Cada viernes nos hemos reunido para realizar actividades presenciales relacionadas con el tema de esa semana. Nuestros viajes de los viernes han incluido un tour t\u00f3xico, un evento de plantaci\u00f3n Eco Center, un d\u00eda de limpieza del lago Merritt, Point Pinole excursi\u00f3n y el Slam de Poes\u00eda anual.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">La Academia de Verano empuja a los participantes a asumir posiciones de liderazgo y a salir de su zona de confort. Esto se demuestra a trav\u00e9s del componente de pr\u00e1cticas externas de la Academia, en el que los participantes trabajan con una organizaci\u00f3n de su elecci\u00f3n dos veces por semana como externos remunerados. Esto da a los estudiantes la oportunidad de considerar diferentes trayectorias profesionales y desarrollar habilidades que pueden hacerles m\u00e1s exitosos tanto en la escuela como en su futuro lugar de trabajo. Adem\u00e1s, les da la oportunidad de observar y poner en pr\u00e1ctica el tipo de trabajo que realizan los activistas medioambientales comunitarios. Adem\u00e1s de las pr\u00e1cticas externas, los participantes<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0en<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0talleres, limpiezas, proyectos de investigaci\u00f3n, debates y encuentros con activistas de toda la Bah\u00eda. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Al final de la Academia, los j\u00f3venes hacen una presentaci\u00f3n de 10 minutos sobre lo que han aprendido en la Cumbre Comunitaria. Esta es una oportunidad para que los estudiantes elijan cualquier tema que les guste relacionado con la justicia medioambiental y social y compartan por qu\u00e9 es fascinante o importante para ellos.
