We can help you steer resources towards community-driven solutions to today’s most pressing problems.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\tResources Matter\n\t\t\t In addition to efficiently channeling grants to charities that you recommend, Rose’s extensive network of environmental justice, conservation, corporate accountability and consumer rights advocates provides an opportunity for you to learn about and support new and emerging groups throughout the country.<\/p>\n Rose offers the following types of Donor Advised Funds.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tYour Charitable Checkbook\t\t\t<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tEndow a Fund\t\t\t<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tSupporting Designated Charities Over Time\t\t\t<\/a>\n\t\t\t\tYour Charitable Checkbook\n By using the Rose Foundation as your Charitable Checkbook, you combine the tax benefits of donating highly-appreciated assets such as stocks, and the ease of making a single donation with the satisfaction of supporting any number of charities which you then choose and advise Rose to support from your fund.<\/p>\n You can add to your fund or make grant recommendations at any time, and any unused funds simply roll over to the next year and remain fully available to you. In addition to naming favorite charities for grants from your fund, you can also ask Rose to research an area of interest and\/or introduce you to groups that fit your giving profile but whom you may not know about yet. The minimum donation needed to establish a new Charitable Checkbook Fund is $25,000.<\/strong><\/p>\n\t\t\t\tEndow a Fund\n Rose places donor advised endowments in a separate named account and all interests and earning accrue to the endowment. You can recommend grants at any time, and you can sleep well knowing that any and all funds you entrust to the Rose Foundation will be invested in harmony with people and planet. Your fund will be managed in accordance with socially responsible investing principles which emphasize just transition, workers rights and corporate responsibility – the Rose Foundation especially does not invest in fossil fuels or other resource extraction industries. Permanently endowed funds require a minimum of $100,000 to start and donors may add to the corpus at any time.<\/strong><\/p>\n\t\t\t\tSupporting Designated Charities Over Time\n Rose can channel endowment funds to a designated charity, or set of charities. Sometimes called a “Single Entity Fund,” this option may be appropriate when the designated beneficiary organization may not have experience in managing a large donation, or when the donor wants to establish an oversight mechanism to ensure that the future use of the funds by the designated beneficiary organization stays true to their original intent. Based on your long-term goals, there is some flexibility in the minimum needed to establish the fund, but otherwise designated or single entity funds generally track permanently endowed funds in operating structure and costs. Contact us above for more information.<\/p>\n Recognition Fee:<\/strong> To recover the basic costs of setting up your fund and managing your gift, Rose will retain 1% of your opening gift (and any future gifts). Example: If you open a Charitable Checkbook Fund with a $25,000 gift, Rose will retain $250 (1%) upon receipt of your gift.<\/p>\n Grantmaking Charge:<\/strong> To recover our costs associated with awarding and administering the grants you recommend, we will charge your fund a 5% grantmaking fee at the time of each grant award. Example: if you recommend a $10,000 grant from your fund, Rose will charge your fund $500 at the time we issue the grant.<\/p>\n Annual Maintenance Fee (For permanently endowed funds only) :<\/strong> No! While we gratefully accept cash donations, many donors prefer to give stock or other appreciated investments in order to save on capital gains tax. We can also work with you to accept real estate or other valuable property.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\tMany large investment companies offer a DAF option, why should I choose Rose?\n\t\t\t If you know exactly what charities you want to support, now and in the future, a commercial DAF could be a good low-cost option. But if you want to support grassroots-focused, equity-driven power building, we are tracking the work of hundreds of environmental justice, conservation, and consumer rights organizations across the county. In addition to efficiently executing your funding recommendations, our team is ready to provide you with introductions and recommendations regarding groups who are squarely in your funding bullseye, but whom you may not know yet.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\tWhat happens if I’m no longer able to make grant recommendations at some point in the future?\n\t\t\t When we execute your fund agreement, we’ll work with you to name alternate or successor advisors, and generally make sure your fund agreement is forward-looking and able to accommodate the normal changes all of us experience in life.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t Change is happening!
