Project Description:

San Joaquin Valley interests are pushing a new comprehensive plan to build several dams and divert 2 million acre-feet of water to the Valley. This amounts to a demolition plan for the San Francisco Bay-Delta and the rivers that flow into it. Friends of the River is requesting $13,500 to defeat it through extensive coalition building, grassroots organizing, policy advocacy and litigation which is already underway. It is imperative that we prevent federal support for the plan through the end of the Trump Administration and keep it out of Governor Newsom’s Water Resilience Portfolio plan.
