This group has succeeded in communicating this urgent issue of ecosystem restoration to members of New Orleans’ Lower 9th Ward and residents have increasingly embraced the importance of ecosystem restoration as well as the implementation of other non-structural measures of flood protection. With this project, they would continue building knowledge among key stakeholders, incorporating resident voice into master planning, leading multiple lines of defense tours of the Bayou Bienvenue Wetland Triangle, and conducting resiliency-training workshops designed to serve participants related to hurricane preparedness and wetland restoration.
