City Fabrick is collaborating with West Long Beach residents and stakeholders to address impacts on their community from industry and freight, by repurposing redundant infrastructure within the historic flood plains of the Los Angeles River, as a barrier park. Components include transforming existing freight infrastructure adjacent to homes and schools – including a freeway, railroad corridor, and transmission corridor, into a regional-scale park, land-use buffer, and sustainable water management system. The project will be working with the community to advance the proposal over the next year.
