The project is the acquisition of 2.6 acres of diked historic baylands and oak wooded hillside near the mouth of the Petaluma River in unincorporated Novato. Together with its partner, Marin Audubon Society, Marin Baylands Advocates is raising funds to purchase the property as it has for eight other parcels Marin Audubon owns at Black Point and 524 acres of other baylands owned by Marin Audubon. The property will be permanently protected as habitat in the ownership of the Marin Audubon. The owner is a willing seller and the purchase agreement calls for escrow to close on September 30.
