Project Description:

Tolowa Dunes Stewards is dedicated to activism, environmental education and restoration on the 11,000 acres of the biologically outstanding Tolowa Coast. We engage youth, tribal members and others for strategic, urgently needed restoration at the mouth of the West’s largest coastal lagoon and many other locations. One of our goals is to “grow” the strategic restoration areas, while building collaboration with Tolowa Dee-ni’ Nation, local and statewide youth support organizations, local community and other partners, to connect members with nature and support stewardship on the Tolowa Coast. Purpose of this grant is to support on-going volunteer programs that engage young people and the community in hands-on restoration of the Lake Earl Wildlife Area.
