A group of teenagers from a northwest Oakland church explored their community’s civil rights history as they registered and mobilized voters to build community power in 2004. Rose Foundation provided training and coordination of this effort and continues to work with high school students to register voters in disenfranchised Oakland neighborhoods every two years.
