Next Stop, Rose Foundation: Meet Tracy, Film Fest Volunteer!

About Me

I was born and raised in the beautiful Bay Area and am now a proud Oakland resident. My husband and I have two wild and wonderful boys ages 5 and 7 plus 3 adopted hermit crabs and our crazy, lovable dog Pickles. I decided to leave my job when my oldest son was born to focus on raising our children. Now that my boys are in school full time, I have more time to give back to causes that are important to me.

I’m Hooked!

Last Fall, I enrolled in an introductory sustainable environmental systems course at Merritt College. The course was an eye opening experience for me, full of interesting guest speakers, field trips to local environmental non-profits, and even visits to City Hall. After that experience, I was hooked!

I wanted my next chapter in life to give back to our community and change things for the better. I want to give back to causes like protecting the environment, making communities and cities resilient, and lifting up our next generation to strive. Plus, on a more personal level, I want to teach my children that they can make a difference in helping things change for the better.

Next Stop Rose Foundation

Now, I find myself here at Rose Foundation. I was interested in volunteering with Rose Foundation because I feel their mission is aligned with what I’m looking for in this new chapter of my life. I am really excited to be helping out with the the 4th Annual Wild and Scenic Film Festival On Tour. This is my first experience volunteering at a film festival and from what I can tell, Rose Foundation puts on a great party and an evening that will be inspirational for everyone. I anticipate this volunteer experience at Rose Foundation to be one I won’t forget and I look forward to witnessing our community in action.

Now it’s YOUR time to act. Become a sponsor, donate a silent auction item, or join me in volunteering at the film festival. Click here to find out how you can get involved!
