Eliezer & Pamela – New Voices for the Environment

Life in the flatlands of Oakland, CA can be a struggle. Two former students of Rose Foundation’s New Voices Are Rising program,Pamela Tapia and Eliezer Mendoza give us a glimpse into the experiences of youth in West and East Oakland, sharing their stories of how they became advocates for their community calling for environmental and social change. Pamela shares her own story of how she used her battle with asthma (aggravated by her home’s proximity to diesel truck routes) to become an advocate for her community, a new voice for environmental and social change.
