New Voices Video to be Screened by Wild & Scenic Film Fest

We are so proud to announce that our film, Pamela – A New Voice for the Environment, has been selected as one of the official films of the 2015 Wild & Scenic Film Festival in Nevada City Jan. 15-18, 2015!

Life in the flatlands of Oakland, CA can be a struggle. Pamela Tapia, former New Voices Are Rising student, gives us a glimpse into how youth experience life and environmental inequities in Oakland. She shares her own story of how she used her battle with asthma (aggravated by her home’s proximity to diesel truck routes) to become an advocate for her community and for environmental and social change through the New Voices Are Rising program at Rose Foundation for Communities and the Environment.

Check out the film write up on the Film Festival website here or watch the film now.

Rose Foundation will also be hosting the Wild & Scenic Film Festival On Tour this Spring 2015. Click here to learn more about the event or how to sponsor.
